Family Health Center, Chattanchal

The Primary Health Center (PHC) that operated to provide primary health services to the people of Chattanchal area was later upgraded to a Family Health Center (FHC) as part of the Aardram Mission project of the Kerala Government. This change was implemented with the aim of making primary health services more popular and modern in Kerala.

The Chattanchal Family Health Center is seen in Kerala e-Health records as functioning as a Family Health Center since December 2, 2020.

With the upgrade to a Family Health Center, the following facilities were developed:

  • OP service from 9 am to 6 pm

  • Modern registration system

  • Laboratory and pharmacy services

  • Private examination rooms

  • Observation rooms

  • Elderly and differently abled friendly facilities

  • Improved waiting hall and health awareness systems.

In 2025, Chattanchal Family Health Centre was accredited with the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) and is recognized as one of the best quality health institutions in the state.

Today, Chattanchal Family Health Centre is a major government health institution providing primary care, maternal and child health services, immunization, lifestyle disease control and public health activities to the people of Chemmanad Grama Panchayat and adjoining areas.
